Filmmaker Dan Jackson and TogetherForSharon® release an inspiring documentary honoring Sharon’s life, courage, and battle with Parkinson’s disease

A new educational and inspiring documentary created by filmmaker Dan Jackson is now available. Released on September 28—Sharon’s birthday—the film shares the story of her battle with Parkinson’s disease and her son George’s continuing journey as an advocate in her memory.

Through Sharon’s story, the documentary honors everyone living with Parkinson’s disease, along with the families, friends, and caregivers who stand beside them. Its message is simple but powerful: no one should ever feel alone in this fight.

“This documentary allows me to preserve my mother’s memory while giving a voice to everyone affected by Parkinson’s disease,” George said. “Her strength continues to inspire our mission. We hope this film educates the public, encourages meaningful action, and reminds families throughout the world that their experiences matter.”

The documentary highlights the voices and contributions of patients, caregivers, advocates, medical professionals, researchers, and community leaders who are making a difference within the Parkinson’s community. It also emphasizes the urgent need for continued research, improved support services, policy advancement, greater public understanding, and—ultimately—a cure.

The documentary is now being shared worldwide and is expected to be submitted for consideration at the next World Parkinson Congress.

Individuals, organizations, media outlets, and community leaders are encouraged to watch and share the documentary through their websites, newsletters, professional networks, and social media channels. Sponsorship and partnership opportunities are also welcomed. Every view, share, and conversation can help increase awareness of the realities faced by people and families affected by Parkinson’s disease.

The documentary is part of the ongoing mission of TogetherForSharon®, an initiative established in Sharon’s memory to promote Parkinson’s awareness, education, advocacy, hope, and the pursuit of a cure.

“My mother’s story represents the experiences of millions of families around the world,” George added. “By sharing this documentary, we can make sure their voices are heard, their courage is recognized, and their journeys are never forgotten.”

The documentary follows the book A Son’s Journey. From Parkinson’s Disease Caregiver to Advocate https://togetherforsharon.com/my-book-a-sons-journey/

THANK YOU WORLD PARKINSON CONGRESS

One of the most memorable moments in my advocacy career was joining the Parkinson’s community from around the world in Arizona. Having the opportunity to speak on stage, meet fellow advocates, hear their stories, and continue raising awareness was an experience I will never forget.

My advocacy has always been deeply personal and continues in memory of my mother, Sharon. Every opportunity to speak, connect with others, and raise awareness allows me to carry her memory and legacy forward.

Because of the World Parkinson Congress and this incredible community, Mom will never be forgotten. Her memory continues to inspire me to advocate, raise awareness, support families, and keep fighting for a future without Parkinson’s disease.

Children’s book on our children’s journey with their Grandma Sharon’s battle with PD….

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: New Children’s Book Offers Hope, Understanding, and Love for Families Living with Parkinson’s Disease

After my mother Sharon passed due to Parkinson’s Disease a piece of my heart was forever broken. As I began advocating for others battling her memory, I noticed several important topics I felt there was a lack of awareness for. I accomplished those and my final difficulty was and still is explaining what happened to my mother to our children. I embarked on this Children’s book from my daughter’s journey to help children cope and understand that it is okay to discuss feelings and loss as well as symptoms they saw in their grandmother but to also never forget the memories we shared together.
