A family movement in memory of Sharon Riff Ackerman — raising awareness and hope for a cure for Parkinson’s disease.

We started TogetherForSharon® as a family for the purpose of keeping my mother, Sharon Riff Ackerman’s, memory alive and to share the message of Parkinson’s Awareness and hope for a cure.

Mission

To raise awareness and hope for a cure for Parkinson’s disease by sharing the stories of those living with it — through thousands of interviews, our podcasts, books, and advocacy carried across the media and the community.

Goals

To reach more families facing Parkinson’s, grow our library of interviews and podcasts, bring Sharon’s story to more communities and media outlets, and keep widening the circle of support — step by step toward a world without Parkinson’s.

Purpose

In loving memory of my mother, Sharon Riff Ackerman — so that no one ever faces Parkinson’s alone, and so that one day this disease becomes a thing of the past.

TogetherForSharon® is a nonprofit organization dedicated to one singular mission: advancing a cure for Parkinson’s disease worldwide. Its founder, Dr. George Ackerman, lives by the belief:

“I am just one son, one voice, who lost his best friend and mother to Parkinson’s disease—and I never want anyone to feel as alone as we did throughout Mom’s battle.”

TogetherForSharon® was created in loving memory of George’s mother to raise awareness, inspire hope, and advocate for a cure for Parkinson’s disease. No one should face this journey alone. We are a family united in this fight, and until a cure is found, our work in advocacy, awareness, and support continues.
