On March 2, WPEC-CBS 12 aired a story sharing our journey—mine as a caregiver and my mother Sharon’s courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease—to help raise awareness. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit continue to inspire everyone who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory lives on through all of us who carry her love and lessons forward. I remain committed to honoring her legacy by advocating for greater awareness, research, and support for those affected by Parkinson’s. I will not stop fighting until there is a cure and no family has to endure the pain of this disease again.

After my mother Sharon passed due to Parkinson’s Disease a piece of my heart was forever broken. As I began advocating for others battling her memory, I noticed several important topics I felt there was a lack of awareness for. I accomplished those and my final difficulty was and still is explaining what happened to my mother to our children. I embarked on this Children’s book from my daughter’s journey to help children cope and understand that it is okay to discuss feelings and loss as well as symptoms they saw in their grandmother but to also never forget the memories we shared together.
