On May 23, 2025, it’s happening again: the Women & Parkinson Event! A special day for women with Parkinson’s, centered around meeting, connecting, and enjoying. A moment to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and come together in a relaxed environment at Recreatiepark De Dikkenberg in Bennekom. Here, women can openly talk about everything on their minds, without the need for explanations. They find recognition, support, and, most importantly, joy.
When I look around on a day like this and see the women glowing, I know: this is why we do it. The strength they gain from these encounters and the feeling of not being alone is priceless.
An Inspiring Morning: Women’s Health on the Agenda
The day starts with a powerful conversation with Judith Tielen, a member of the Dutch Parliament. The theme? Women’s health. A topic that deserves increasing attention and finally has a platform. How can we ensure that women with Parkinson’s receive the care and support they need? How do we bring this topic into political discussions? It promises to be an inspiring conversation.
Active and Creative Workshops in the Afternoon
After lunch, participants can choose two workshops to inspire and strengthen them:
🔹 Urban Poling – Walking with Poles – 45 Minutes
This workshop starts with a short introduction to the Urban Poling technique. Then, we head out into nature for a walk around the park. It’s not just a great way to stay active but also a chance to enjoy fresh air together.
🔹 Discover Your Personal Power Color – 45 Minutes
Colors influence how we feel and approach life. In this workshop, participants will discover their “most empowering color family”, helping them boost their personal strength. Beforehand, they will complete a questionnaire, and during the session, they’ll receive their own color heart.
🔹 Yoga with Dominique Prins-König
For those seeking relaxation and mindfulness, there’s a peaceful yoga workshop with Dominique Prins-König, our very own yoga star. A moment of calm and self-connection.
A Day Full of Beautiful Memories
Beyond the workshops, there’s room for fun and spontaneous moments. A photo booth will be available for solo or group pictures—a lovely keepsake from a special day, with printed photo strips as souvenirs.
And as a special treat, George from TogetherforSharon will join us online for a chat and to connect from afar. How wonderful to feel united, even across distances?
A Day to Cherish
The Women & Parkinson Event 2025 promises to be another extraordinary day filled with connection, recognition, and inspiration. A chance to step away from daily worries and be fully present in the moment.
Want to join? Mark May 23, 2025, in your calendar and experience a day of strength, connection, and relaxation with other women. We can’t wait to welcome you at Recreatiepark De Dikkenberg!
