Filmmaker Dan Jackson and TogetherForSharon® share a powerful story of love, perseverance, awareness, and hope on Sharon’s birthday
Filmmaker Dan Jackson has created an educational and inspiring documentary telling the story of Sharon’s battle with Parkinson’s disease and her son George’s continuing journey as an advocate in her memory. The documentary will be released on September 28, 2026—Sharon’s birthday.
Through Sharon’s story, the documentary honors people living with Parkinson’s disease, as well as the families, friends, and caregivers who support them. Its central message is that no one should ever feel alone in the fight against Parkinson’s.
“This documentary is an opportunity to preserve my mother’s memory while giving a voice to everyone affected by Parkinson’s disease,” George said. “Through education, advocacy, and shared experiences, we can offer hope to families and strengthen the worldwide movement toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.”
The documentary highlights the experiences and contributions of patients, caregivers, advocates, medical professionals, researchers, and community leaders who are making a difference within the Parkinson’s community. Its goals are to educate the public, inspire meaningful action, and emphasize the urgent need for continued research, policy advancement, family support, and access to care.
Following its release, the documentary is expected to be submitted for consideration at the next World Parkinson Congress, providing an opportunity to share Sharon’s story and the mission of TogetherForSharon® with an international audience.
Individuals and organizations are invited to support the documentary by sponsoring the project, sharing it across their professional and personal networks, promoting it through social media, and featuring it on websites or other communication channels. Every shared post and conversation can help bring greater attention to the realities of Parkinson’s disease.
The documentary is part of the continuing mission of TogetherForSharon®, which was established in Sharon’s memory to promote Parkinson’s awareness, education, advocacy, hope, and the pursuit of a cure.
“My mother’s courage continues to inspire everything we do,” George added. “Her story represents the experiences of millions of people and families around the world. Together, we can make sure their voices are heard and their journeys are never forgotten.”
