A Moment That Says Everything: Carrying Her Legacy Forward
Standing here with my daughter—and Sharon’s granddaughter—Brooke is one of the most meaningful moments in all of my advocacy. It’s more than a photo. It’s a reflection of love, legacy, and the unbreakable bond that Parkinson’s could never take away.
Although my mother, Sharon, lost her battle with Parkinson’s disease, her presence is still felt in everything we do. Her strength, her spirit, and her love live on through all of us—but especially through Brooke. They weren’t just grandmother and granddaughter—they were best friends. Through the hardest days, my mom would always say she was still fighting so she could one day be there for Brooke’s wedding.
While Parkinson’s took that moment from us, it will never take her place in our hearts. We carry her with us in every step, every memory, and every effort to continue this fight. Through our advocacy, we make sure her voice is never silenced and her story is never forgotten.
One of the most beautiful ways we’ve honored that bond is through the release of our children’s book, I LOVE YOU, GRANDMA SHARON! Their Journey from a Child’s Perspective… Brooke and Grandma’s Days with Parkinson’s. This book captures their love, their journey, and the powerful perspective of a child navigating Parkinson’s alongside someone she cherished deeply.
I am so proud of Brooke, her strength, and the way she continues to carry her grandmother’s legacy forward. And I am endlessly grateful for this incredible community that continues to support, uplift, and stand together in this fight.
We will never forget. We love you always, Mom. 💙
