A Facebook Group That Promotes Positivity in Name, but Not in Action

I’ve been a member of a Facebook group for years and had never reached out before.

Today, however, I was publicly accused by an admin in the group of trying to ask for “Fundraising” simply because I shared an inspiring journey of a special individual advocating for awareness. No Fundraising is so they likely never read it.  If they reached out privately no problem but the face the Admn. stated it Publicly in their group is why I am responding.

I’ve shared over 3,000 journeys and continue to overtime and have never experienced anything like this. I don’t recall the exact group name since I left, but it included “Positivity and Peace” and  “Parkinson’s.” Unfortunately, the response I received was far from positive. I’m addressing this publicly because the claim made about me was inaccurate and misrepresented my intentions.

Take a look, not one donation requested https://togetherforsharon.com/interview-index/

One negative experience will never stop my advocacy. As many of you know, we do not accept funds and have personally donated over $50,000—likely more—to this cause. I devote myself fully to this mission because Parkinson’s disease took my mother from me, and I never want others to feel alone in their journey as we once did. I am here to serve, support, and uplift others.

It’s disheartening that without taking the time to read or understand the work being shared, someone could discourage meaningful advocacy. While this could deter others, it will not stop me—it only motivates me to do more. Imagine the impact we could have if we all chose to truly support one another and work together for the greater good.

Ironically, the group included the word “positive,” yet this experience reflected the opposite. No one—anywhere—should be met with that kind of response when trying to raise awareness and help others.

I’ve chosen to leave the group and encourage everyone not to engage in negativity, but instead to come together even stronger—to support, uplift, and make an even greater impact, no matter the obstacles.

Onward we go—together. Now, back to our regular programming.
