She has been practicing yoga and meditation for over twenty-five years. When she’s not teaching yoga, she is the Director of Wellness & Fitness at a country club in Greenwich. She also teaches weekly Yoga classes around Fairfield County.

Can you tell me more about your organization?
Currently I am involved with the Parkinson’s Foundation. It started with the Philadelphia marathon when my sister signed up to run for the foundation, and then my other sister decided to do a burpee for every dollar she raised. I joined the marathon as well. We were on the local news and raised well over $10k. Since then, I led a “Moving Day” pre-walk stretch in Westchester, NY and I am currently about to shoot a few videos on YouTube for Move with Parkinson’s – two recorded and one live (in August).
What is your passion and how did you get involved in Parkinson’s awareness and hope for a cure?
It’s all about my dad who was so active, so supportive growing up. It’s been terrible watching what it’s done to both of my parents.
What type of goals do individuals with Parkinson’s have when working with you?
I am a yoga teacher and personal trainer and will get as much training as I can, and with my hands-on experience want to work with more people.
What effect can it have on an individual with Parkinson’s?
I think the more people are aware of it and know that it’s not just tremors in the hands and body. That’s just the first step. But the more I talked about it, the more people told me they had a mom or a dad with the disease.
What type of training and how long are the programs?

What would you like to see as a future goal for your programs?
I’d like to do more, and for more people. Which I am doing. Hopefully more often.
What events do you participate in?
I did the Phili marathon and will do another race next year. I participated in the “moving day” walk in Westchester – I led the Orr walk warm up stretch – will do again – and I am doing the online fit Friday classes. And I will host a yoga class. All for Parkinson’s foundation.
How can someone get in touch? What is your website?
If you had one final statement or quote you could leave for the Parkinson’s community, what would it be?
Enjoy today. Don’t focus on what you USED to do or be able to do. Focus on today. And just because you can’t do everything, don’t let that stop you from doing something. Or even just one thing.
